We are happy to announce that Dr Alessandro Gasparini will be giving a seminar on the use and development of Bayesian statistics at Red Door Analytics, hosted at Karolinska Institutet. The seminar is part of the Learn Bayes seminar series, organised by Karolinska Institutet. Dr Gasparini was at the time a Principal Statistical Methodologist at Red Door Analytics, with significant experience in real-world evidence studies and a strong background in survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, multilevel modelling, and computational statistics.
The seminar covers a Bayesian joint-modelling approach for longitudinal cluster-randomised trials. We recently introduced a frequentist joint-modelling approach to account for informative dropout in longitudinal stepped-wedge cluster-randomised trials, combining a linear mixed-effects model for the longitudinal outcome with a survival model for the dropout process. We now extend this methodology to longitudinal cluster-randomised trials and adopt a Bayesian framework, illustrating it using data from the CARING trial, a cluster-randomised controlled trial evaluating an integrated community strategy to promote maternal nutrition and paediatric outcomes in rural eastern India.
