This study investigated whether aortic valve replacement improves survival for dialysis-dependent patients with severe aortic stenosis — a group that carries a high competing risk of death and is often under-represented in clinical trials. Using national data, it compared surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and medical management.
