
Michael Crowther, PhD
CEO & Director of Statistical Methodology
Michael was for many years an academic biostatistician, rising to Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Leicester, before relocating to Stockholm in 2021 to pursue new challenges. He specialises in survival analysis and joint longitudinal–survival models, and is a prolific statistical software developer — the author of the merlin framework.
A former NIHR Fellow and MRC New Investigator, he co-authored NICE TSD 21 (Flexible methods for survival analysis) and teaches advanced statistics courses around the world, with an emphasis on joint modelling and multi-state survival analysis. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
