Hello everyone! đź‘‹

I’m Caroline, and I officially joined Red Door Analytics as Principal Biostatistician in March 2023, but have been involved from the side-lines since the very beginning. I currently work 40% here, with the remainder of my employment being at Karolinska Institutet

My undergraduate education was in mathematical statistics, and my MSc project (on flexible parametric survival models!) in 2009 resulted in a job as an applied biostatistician at Karolinska Institutet. In 2018, I defended my PhD thesis (Survivorship in Hodgkin lymphoma: childbearing and treatment-related disease) and have since continued to work with population-based cancer survival. I have particular interest in hematological and colorectal cancer research. My role here at Red Door Analytics is to work hands-on in applied research projects, develop courses, and to write our Statistical Primers (please reach out with requests – caroline@reddooranalytics.se). I primarily work in Stata, especially enjoying all things starting with “st” there, but also find myself in SAS from time to time.

On a personal note, I am from Stockholm and have lived here all my life. I enjoy cooking, crocheting, spending time with friends and family, and having down time with my two sons, for example playing video games together (including trying to introduce vintage 80s Nintendo games with limited success…).

Next year (in 2024), I celebrate 15 years working with register-based research. I look forward to being part of Red Door Analytic’s journey for many more years to come! 🙂
